Monthly pay

How much is a virtual assistant salary in the Philippines?

About ₱45,717 a month at 40 hours a week, the median of 34 live posts; posts paying in pesos sat lower, at ₱30,000.

VA pay comes from two different worlds. Philippine employers and staffing firms on JobStreet mostly post a monthly peso salary, and the 8 posts that did had a median range of ₱25,000 to ₱37,500. Foreign clients on OnlineJobs.ph mostly post dollars an hour or a month, which we converted at the BSP reference rate of 23 October 2026. Put on one scale, the dollar posts sit higher and spread wider.

What pays more

What makes one virtual assistant job pay more than another?

The schedule and the board did; experience did not. US-hours posts paid ₱317 an hour against ₱222 for other schedules.

Median pay per hour by type of post
  • US hours (11 posts)₱317
  • Other or no schedule (23 posts)₱222
  • OnlineJobs.ph (21 posts)₱317
  • JobStreet (13 posts)₱216
  • Sales and lead generation (6 posts)₱257

Finding: posts that asked for experience did not pay more

The 20 posts that required experience had a median of ₱257 an hour; the 14 that set no minimum, ₱264. What moved pay was when and for whom you work: posts on US hours and posts from OnlineJobs.ph paid more. Experience still opens more posts to you, as our count of virtual assistant jobs for beginners shows, but in this sample it was not what set the rate.

Freelance pay

What comes off freelance virtual assistant pay?

As a freelancer you pay all of your SSS contribution, your PhilHealth premium and your income tax yourself, and no 13th month pay comes on top.

An employer pays part of these for an employee. A freelancer is a self-employed member, who “shall pay both the employer and the employee contributions” to SSS (RA 11199, Sec. 19-A). 13th month pay is owed by employers to employees (PD 851 as amended), and so is the night differential (Labor Code, Art. 86).

What the law sets for a self-employed VA

  • 15%
of your monthly salary credit to SSS, up to a credit of ₱35,000; an employee pays 5% (RA 11199)
  • 5%
of monthly income to PhilHealth, on income from ₱10,000 to ₱100,000 (RA 11223, Sec. 10)
  • 8%
income tax on yearly gross receipts above ₱250,000, if you choose this option over the graduated rates (TRAIN law, RA 10963)

Source: the three laws as published on Lawphil, read 23 October 2026. The 8% option is open while gross receipts stay under the VAT threshold.

Worked example: a freelancer earning the sample median, ₱45,717 a month

  • ₱5,250
SSS, 15% of the ₱35,000 credit
    An employee would pay ₱1,750
  • ₱2,286
    PhilHealth, 5% of ₱45,717
  • ₱1,991
    Income tax a month, 8% of ₱548,604 a year minus ₱250,000, over 12
  • ₱36,190
Left before Pag-IBIG, transfer fees and your internet bill
    79% of the gross

RA 11199 contribution schedule: 2025, contribution rate 15%, employer 10%, employee 5%, monthly salary credit ₱5,000 minimum and ₱35,000 maximum
The SSS schedule in the law: from 2025 the rate is 15%, split 10% employer and 5% employee. A self-employed member pays both shares. Source: RA 11199 (Lawphil), captured 23 October 2026.

Vs call center

Do virtual assistants earn more than call center agents?

In the posts we read, yes: peso VA posts had a median range of ₱25,000 to ₱37,500 a month, against ₱20,000 to ₱25,000 for call center agents.

The call center figure comes from a separate sample: 36 call center agent posts with a monthly salary on JobStreet, read 25 September 2026. The VA figure is the 8 VA posts with a monthly peso salary, read 23 October 2026. A call center salary comes with the night differential and 13th month pay by law, so compare like with like in our call center salary guide.

Median posted monthly range, two samples
  • VA, low end (8 peso posts)₱25,000
  • VA, high end₱37,500
  • Call center agent, low end (36 posts)₱20,000
  • Call center agent, high end₱25,000

Raise your rate

How do you get a higher virtual assistant rate?

Aim at the kinds of posts that paid more in our sample: US hours, sales and lead generation work, and OnlineJobs.ph.

Each of those groups had a higher median than its alternative in the comparison above. Before you quote a rate, convert it at today’s rate and subtract what you will pay yourself as a freelancer, so a dollar offer and a peso salary meet on the same terms. If the night shift or the phone is not for you, the lower-paying groups are still work you can start with. Your training plan shows where you stand:

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you make ₱10,000 a month as a VA?

In our sample, every post that stated its weekly hours paid more than that for those hours. The lowest was ₱11,570 a month for 6 hours a week. Base: 18 posts with convertible pay and stated hours, read 23 October 2026.

Are virtual assistants paid in dollars?

Most were in our sample: 25 of the 34 posts with convertible pay set the rate in US, Australian or New Zealand dollars, and 9 in pesos. Dollar pay reaches you in pesos at your bank’s or payment service’s rate, not the BSP reference rate.

Do virtual assistants get 13th month pay?

Only as employees. PD 851, as amended, makes 13th month pay an employer’s duty to its employees, so a freelance or contractor agreement does not include it unless the client offers it. Ask in writing which one your offer is.

How we got these numbers

We converted the pay in 34 of 50 live virtual assistant posts to pesos, read 23 October 2026.

We read the first 30 VA posts on OnlineJobs.ph and 20 on JobStreet in each board’s order and kept every post that gave a currency, a unit and both ends of its range.
